With almost 400,000 participating in Maths Week Ireland 2019, we at Presentation College Headford had plenty of activitiers organised for both staff and students to get involved in!

As part of our numeracy strategy we focused on cross curricular activities involving Art and Home Economics departments. Our fabulous transition year students organised a Maths treasure hunt with 1st year students and Bingo with 2nd years! We then had games at lunchtime from “Guess the weight of the cake” to “Guess how many sweets are in the jar”.

They also organised a maths themed bake sale. Our Art students created some fabulous work based on the golden ration, and fibonacci sequence.

A massive thank you to all our TY students who put in trojan work and helped to make it such a success. A big thank you to all the teachers who organised it and particularly Ms. Coleman who led this initiative.

We are looking forward to next year already!
