Cora Staunton, AFLW Player, Pundit RTE Sport and Mayo Legend presenting the Senior Girls with their Connaught Winners’ medals on Monday.  

 

Ms Fiona Gallagher (Principal) and the PCH sporting community were truly honoured with the attendance of Ms Cora Staunton at the Senior Girls’ Medal presentation on Monday 23rd of May.  Cora delivered an inspirational and motivational talk to the girls and emphasised the importance of sport and participation in it, and how important it is in building resilience and making friendships that endure. She spoke of her own experience of sport during her school life and how formative it was.

 

Mr Andrew Curran of AC Tyres, Ms. Mary Sweeney (former Principal of PCH) and Mr. PJ Newell (former Chairperson of the BOM) of Newell Engineering were present at the occasion as sponsors.

 

The Senior Girls’ team and their coach, Ms. Fiona Tuffy, would like to sincerely thank Mr. Andrew Curran of AC Tyres for so generously sponsoring their football jumpers, which the girls will wear with pride.

 

The football managers and coaches of all the girls’ Gaelic football teams in the school would like to convey their sincere gratitude to Ms. Mary Sweeney and Mr. P.J Newell for sponsoring a set of Girls’ football jerseys in acknowledgement of the team’s wonderful achievement in winning the PPS Senior Connaught title this year.   The jerseys will be a great additional resource to the school as involvement in ladies sport continues to grow.
