Incoming First Years One-to-One Devices

Thank you to all parents who joined us for the recent Incoming First Year Information Evening. We very much appreciate the time taken to attend and the engagement shown throughout the session. The school presentation from the evening is available here

As your child prepares to join Presentation College Headford, we want to ensure that families are well informed and supported as part of this transition. The introduction of a one-to-one (1:1) device model for incoming First Year students is a key element of how we are supporting teaching and learning in the school, and it forms part of a broader, carefully planned digital learning strategy.

The focus of the evening was on outlining how personal devices can support students in practical ways, such as organisation, access to learning materials, feedback on work, inclusion, and the gradual development of digital skills while also maintaining a strong emphasis on handwriting, textbooks, discussion, and core classroom practice. These traditional elements remain central to learning in PCH and will continue to do so.

We are also very mindful of the importance of student wellbeing, appropriate screen use, online safety, and clear expectations around device use. These areas have been carefully considered in how the programme is structured and supported.

To assist parents further, we have partnered with Olive For Education, who will support the school community throughout the implementation of this programme. The ordering guide below outlines the steps required to ensure that devices are delivered to the school and ready for use at the beginning of the new school year.

Should questions arise after reviewing the materials, further support is available through Olive for Education, and the school remains available to assist parents as needed.

We look forward to welcoming your child to Presentation College Headford and to working closely with you as they begin this next stage of their education.

Kind regards,
PCH
