1st and 2nd Year Girls Basketball Finals
On Tuesday the 21/5/19 the school hosted the 1st and 2nd Year Girls Connaught Basketball Semi-Finals and Finals. The 2nd Years put in a great performance in their Semi-Final against Foxford, but were unlucky with some of their shooting and came up short on a score of 12-7. The first Years were also playing Foxford in their Semi-Final. The game was tight in the first half, with good scores from Jessica Cullen and Monica Gallagher keeping us ahead. We pulled away in the 2nd half with Gabriala Kiaulakiyle and Maeve Lynn chipping in to give us a winning score of 27-5. Westport were our opponents in the Final and again it remained close in the first half with only one basket in it at half time. But the scoring power of Heather Hardiman and Sarah Coyle proved decisive in the end and we pulled away for a 24-8 victory to end the year undefeated and Connaught Champions. The winning panel was:
