The school is very committed to the development of the full range of each student’s talents and aptitudes. Students are invited and encouraged to participate in a wide array of sports and other activities outside the regular school timetable.
The school enters and competes in inter-schools competitions in: Athletics, Basketball, Camogie, Gaelic Football, Hurling, Soccer and, Rugby.
Teams are also entered very successfully into the BT Young Scientist Exhibition,BSTAI quiz, Vex Robotics, Debating and Public Speaking Competitions, Student Enterprise Awards, Gaisce and many more. The school is committed to staging a Musical production every number of years. The Music department also boasts an award-winning choir and a wonderful orchestra comprising of students from 1st to 6th Year.
We have our Apollo club, chess club and book club running very regularly to cater for all tastes.
At the end of the year, exceptional performance and achievement are recognised at our Award’s Day.
The school is greatly indebted to the teachers who give so generously of their time and expertise in the promotion of these activities on a voluntary basis. The help and encouragement of members of the local community also facilitates the development of these activities and is, once again, deeply appreciated by the school.
