Senior Game

The first game of the Championship and the first outing in our new set of jerseys began with a comprehensive win over Ballyhaunis Community School.  After a tight first half, the girls pulled away in the second half.  It was an excellent display of football made even more impressive by the fact that this was the first game together for some of these players on the Senior Team.  A number of excellent attacking moves beginning with our own kick out widened the gap with the final score 7.8 to 3.10. The defensive work from all players was outstanding and the contribution made by subs also aided this win.  Best of luck to the team in their next match away to Dunmore on the 18th October. The team is managed by Ms. Fiona Tuffy

Junior Game:

Girls Junior Game v Dunmore Community School

27/09/2022

Our Junior team played their first game of the year away to Dunmore and PCH started the game strongly with a goal from Ava Heneghan.  We continued to push on in the first half and further goals followed from Alisha O’Malley and Eleanor East which gave us a seven point lead at half time, 3-7 to 1-6.  Dunmore Came into the game more in the 2nd half and we didn’t finish all of the chances that came our way with Dunmore scoring the final two points, leading to a one point loss for PCH, final score, PCH 3-10, Dunmore 2-14.  Our next game is at home to Mercy Tuam on Monday the 10th of October at 1pm.

This year for the first time, PCH will field two ladies teams in the same age grade as we are fielding a second junior team to cater for the huge numbers we have interested in playing. The second team open their championship campaign on Tuesday next when they make the long trip to Achill for a 12pm throw-in. They follow that up with home games against Sancta Maria, Louisburgh and Colaiste Mhuire, Tourmakeady. The team is managed by Mr Corbett and Ms Coyle.
