David Dempsey, Fiona Gallagher, Orla Jackson- Senior Leadership Team PCH
David Dempsey, who is a native of Tuam, is our new Deputy Principal here in PCH. David joins our
team having come from Coláiste Muire Máthair, Galway, where he has been Deputy Principal since
2021. Previous to this, David held Assistant Principal positions as Yearhead and ICT coordinator for
teaching and learning in Merlin College, Galway. David has been teaching Business, Economics and
Maths since 2005 following the completion of his HDip from NUI Galway.
He went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership in 2020 from University of Limerick.
David is very passionate about continuous school improvement, student centered learning,
innovative teaching methodologies and the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. He
believes strongly in providing opportunities for all students in becoming the best that they can be, in
social justice and the use of restorative justice in building relationships.
David is both delighted and honoured to be joining the management team of Presentation College
Headford and is looking forward to continuing to build on the successes achieved over the last eighty
years in educational provision to the young people of Headford and the surrounding communities.
