Saint Vincent de Paul have been active in Ireland since 1844 and are the biggest volunteer charity in the country. Now, in 2018, we hope to establish what is called a ‘conference’ of Young SVDP in PCH. Following an information morning with Ms. Helen Ralph of SVDP, we’ve had a great response from TY students and from Fifth Years, with over 30 students volunteering to join the organisation.

It is envisaged that the PCH Conference can perhaps reach out to students through a homework club; raise awareness of social justice issues in our locality and perhaps be involved in raising funds and visiting the elderly. It is hoped that SVDP could become an integral part of the school at senior cycle.

Junior students sitting on the student council are also invited to join. Anyone wishing to know more can contact Mr. Shovlin in Room 8.
