Our U-14 girls qualified for the Connacht final after defeating Davitt College on Thursday in sun-drenched Breaffy. Our opponents were very physical from the start but the PCH players were expecting that and didn’t take a backwards step at any stage. We got some great team scores in that first half with a number of them coming after outstanding defensive play at the other end.
We knew we had to keep the pressure up after the break to keep our Mayo opponents at arms length and we did just that. Once again it would be unfair to name individuals after such a good team performance.
We will now be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Miss Tuffy’s senior girls team who tasted championship glory earlier this year.
We will play either Mercy College, Sligo, or Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown in the final. Date and venue to be confirmed.
