Presentation College Headford is so proud to announce that a total of four projects have qualified for the BT Young Scientist Exhibition.
Here are two more great projects;
Project 3: Motion sensor wristband to help the visually impaired cross the road
Students: Eve Kennedy, Alva Mullin, Ava Brennan, 2nd year
Description: The aim is to develop a wearable device that will help visually impaired people to cross the road by detecting oncoming vehicles and warning the wearer.
Project 4: Making plastic out of fish scales
Student: Angelina O’Neill, 2nd year
Description: Bioplastics are biodegradable alternatives to regular plastics but often rely on common foods, such as milk, to produce. This project aims to find a way of using more sustainable ingredients that would otherwise be considered wastes, such as fish scales, to produce more environmentally friendly plastics.
None of this would be possible without the encouragement and support of the Science Department in PCH. In particular Mr. Toner & Ms Halleran
